| The Worldwide Astronomical Society is located somewhere in the Ironfist Mountains, which gives an extra boost to the height to their massive observatory.

| Description:
|
| The Worldwide Astronomical Society is a private organization determined to learn all it can about the heavens. Some time ago, before adequate telescopes could be made, the Society sought erect a giant tower to bring them high enough to study the heavens. With the help of the Mages Guild, the Necromium Masonry Society, and many generous donors, the Society's dream was realized and all interested parties could satisfy their heavenly curiosities.
In fact, it is rumored that most of its members are so focused on the stars that they completely neglect 'worldly' matters. As a result, a few business-oriented members have taken over the non-scientific aspects of the Society and continue to push for a more profitable take on the research. Some have complained that the Society is becoming too commercial, but things are unlikely to change as long as the money flows in and the astronomers are wrapped up in their studies.

XP Information
There are some lower-level mobs in the lobby, along with a receptionist selling a couple items. You may want to take a look at some of the walls and signs in the lobby and on the staircase just for fun.
Once on the staircase, go around until you find the glowing image. Read the room descriptions to find it, it should be right in the middle on the southern portion of the stairs after you have gone around one or more times (or w;s;e;e;n;w;w;s;e from the base of the stairs). 'Enter image' here.
Buy 'a pocket of portable atmosphere' and 'one end of a very long rope' from the gnome. You will need to wear the pocket of portable atmosphere to get to the next part of the zone, so don't be too attached to whatever surround EQ you are wearing.
This part of the zone is NPK, and is actually quite decent XP for a higher-level caster/tank group.
